Postdoctoral Researcher
Description
We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher to design and conduct target trial emulations to estimate effects of dynamic treatment strategies for Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome using observational ICU data. Specifically, we are interested in strategies for steroid initiation and cessation, neuromuscular blockade initiation and cessation, and ventilator settings. While our R01 grant is mostly applied in focus, we are also more than happy to support relevant methodological work. My co-PIs are Elias Kassis (a physician researcher from the criticial care unit of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center)and Li-wei Lehman (an ML researcher from physionet, the organization that maintains the MIMIC ICU database at MIT). We have already received funding through September 2027 (i.e. we actually have the money in our possession so it can’t be withdrawn) with renewal for another 2 years possible after that. The position is full time with a salary of $75K-$80K per year. Remote or hybrid would be ok. If you want in person meetings, I’m based in NYC and my collaborators are in Boston. The ideal candidate would be familiar with target trial emulation, g-methods, and working with complex longitudinal healthcare data.
